Support the EarthHour 2009

Dear Colleagues,

On Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 8:30 pm, MAXIS will be taking part in what promises to be an amazing and inspiring event in the fight against climate change—Earth Hour, sponsored by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF).

By simply turning off all non-essential lighting for one hour at our locations and facilities across MALAYSIA, we will join tens of millions of concerned citizens and corporations throughout the world in calling for action to save our planet for future generations.

More than 50 million people in 370 cities around the world took part in Earth Hour 2008. The lights went out at Sydney’s Opera House, Rome’s Coliseum, the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. Even the Google homepage went dark for the day.

This year, Earth Hour promises to be even bigger. In MALAYSIA many cities have already pledged to participate…with more signing up daily.

To help us make sure the lights actually do go out on March 28th, we’d like to ask that all employees to switch off office lights and unplug non-essential equipment before leaving the building on the Friday before Earth Hour. In addition, we’d like to encourage everyone to participate in Earth Hour by turning off their lights at home during the event.
